Liam Payne Signs SOLO Record Deal - Is He Leaving 1D?

Liam has been keeping things on the down low ever since 1D went on their hiatus, but it sounds like the singer is ready to start making music again.
Directioners, get excited! We’re one step closer to a solo Liam album. The former One Direction singer announced that he is now signed to Capitol Records in the UK as a solo artist and revealed his happy news on Twitter early Thursday morning. Liam wrote QUOTE, “Happy to have signed to @CapitolUK. They have an amazing history of artists, I hope I can follow in their footsteps. One Direction will always be my home and family, but I’m very excited to see what this chapter brings.”
It didn’t take too long for upset Directioners to rain on Liam’s parade and start the trending hashtag, ‘#One DirectionIsOverParty.’ It might be a little too soon for that hashtag since the guys of 1D have all YET to confirm that they’re actually over (but let’s be real they are OVER.) and hey, They’re allowed to work on their own thing!
Anyway, this news shouldn’t really come as a surprise. It was only a matter of time before Liam signed his own deal since Harry Styles reportedly signed his own deal not too long ago. Not to mention Liam had been working with Juicy J on a number of tracks over the last year, so a solo career was definitely foreseeable in Liam’s future back then.
While this is all very exciting for Liam and his loyal fans, there is currently no word on when Liam’s solo album will make its debut or if we’ll hear any of Liam’s collaborations with Juicy J on his upcoming solo album!
