If you’re all caught up with Stranger Things, then you know that there was some serious coupling happening at the end of season two. Eleven and Mike shared their first kiss, as did Lucas and Max, AND earlier in the season, Nancy and Jonathan finally got together. So it wasn’t that much of a shock when Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike on the show, teased that season 3 would be the “Summer of Love” for Stranger Things.
But now, we’ve got even MORE juicy details on what to expect from the SEASON of love, thanks to Millie Bobby Brown. During a Stranger Things event in New York City this week, Millie was asked about the future of the series, including whether or not Eleven's adoptive father, Chief Jim Hopper, might finally have a romance with Joyce Byers. While Millie is SWORN to secrecy when it comes to season 3 plot details, she did tease QUOTE, “I can't say anything about this...This is so bad. Listen, I would love for them to get together. Jopper is like my inspiration in life. I'm shipping them from the ground up.”
Okay, so without saying anything, Millie basically confirmed that Jopper is endgame for her -- which hopefully means Jopper is endgame for the series as a whole.
And as for Eleven’s own fate in the series, Millie said of her character QUOTE, “I think Eleven should sacrifice herself in some way...That's how I kind of want that situation to go. I want to have her really sacrifice her powers. If Eleven loses her powers, is she as powerful just as a character? I think that would be very cool. I want to build her to be a strong person without her powers. But right now it's very much about her powers, and I think taking that away slowly could be cool.”
Um, can someone throw Millie into that Stranger Things writing room ASAP? Because she’s got some DEEP insight into her character and we are SO down to see what the other characters in Hawkins would do without Eleven’s powers there to save their a**.
Alright now I wanna hear what YOU guys think -- are you hoping to see a Jopper romance happen in season 3? And do you think Millie’s instincts about Eleven’s fate are spot on? Let me hear ALL of your thoughts in the comments below.
