11 Favorite Book to Film Adaptations►►
If you're a fan of the Maze Runner books, and now movie franchise, I've got some awesome news for ya because we're about to learn a heck of a lot more about the Gladers in a new book.
We're assuming that since the book-to-film adaptation oThe Maze Runner had such a stellar opening at the box office last weekend, that it's probably the reason why the book's author James Dashner now wants to keep that momentum going, by announcing that he is currently penning a new prequel novel in the series that will hit shelves in 2016.
Right now there are four books in the collection: The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, The Death Cure and an already established prequel by the name of The Kill Order. This NEW prequel, however, will be called "The Fever Code" and it will journey deeper into the maze's creators and we will find out exactly who put the Gladers in the Glade, or perhaps whether or not the Gladers actually decided to go willingly into that caged elevator themselves. Oh no they didn't...or maybe they did!
Dashner told MTV " I’ve always wanted to write a prequel about Thomas, Teresa, Newt, Minho, Alby and all the Gladers that leads up to the very moment Thomas enters the Box. There are so many things hinted at that will be fun to reveal in depth. For years, fans have made it abundantly and enthusiastically clear that they want the same thing, so now seems like the perfect time to give readers the story of how the Maze began.” Get excited Dashner Army!
The other good news is that if you can't wait until 2016 for more Maze Runner goodness, then you're probably pretty stoked that the sequel The Scorch Trials has been greenlit and we will see that movie hit theaters in September of 2015.
So, if you could help Dashner write this prequel, what would you include in it!?!?! Play screenwriter in the comments, and to learn about 11 of our Favorite Book To Film Adaptations - you can click here.
