Another day, another talk of a possible One Direction reunion, so leave it to Niall Horan to lay it on us thick this time around about the group’s real plans to reunite in the future.
This Episode is brought to you by Transformers: The Last Knight. Check it out in theaters Wednesday, June 21st. Tickets now on sale.
So are they, or aren’t they? WE NEED ANSWERS, PEOPLE.
It’s been 18 months – not that we’ve been keeping count – since One Direction announced their indefinite hiatus, and while we love nothing more than see each member succeed in their solo endeavors, we’re all just patiently waiting for the day they announce their reunion tour.
Unfortunately, Niall Horan, who’s slated to release his solo album this fall, was recently asked about plans for a 1D reunion tour, and as we all know that timing can be a total you-know-what, Niall also seems to believe that a reunion in the midst of everything the guys are currently working on, just wouldn’t be the best timing, but to never say never.
He said QUOTE, “I suppose right now, it would be a bit weird. Can't rule anything out really, can you?” But as for Niall, he plans on sticking around and releasing new music for as long as he can. He talked about his current gig and plans to release a full album, saying, “There's a lot of stuff going on at the minute, promo-wise, around the world. Performing things down in Australia, and it's all crazy at the minute. So, when I get time to stop that — or when that stops — I'll then release it. I'm really looking forward to it.”
And perhaps the biggest One Direction fan in the group, Niall still admits to reminiscing on the good times by listening to his favorite 1D songs whenever the mood sets. He revealed in an interview with Entertainment City QUOTE, “I listen to One Direction stuff now, yeah it will obviously come on and some days I'll think of a song and want to listen to it. I like a song called 'Stockholm Syndrome' and a song called 'Fireproof.' When I hear these songs, I can hear my own flavors in it, and then there's everyone else's flavors on top so I got to express myself a lot in the band.”
So maybe this reunion news isn’t exactly what you’d hoped for, but it’s good to know that these guys are still in full support of one another, so I think it’s safe to say we can definitely look forward to mini projects from time to time, like the charity single benefiting victims of the Grenfell Tower fire that both Liam and Louis were a part of, called “Bridge Over Troubled Waters”. Baby steps, guys!
But right now, I want to know all your thoughts on what Niall had to say about a reunion, so get to talking down here in the comments, and after that, be sure to subscribe for all the latest updates. Thanks for watching Clevver News, I’m your host Jackie Iadonisi and I’ll see you next time.
