On the red carpet at the 2016 American Music Awards, Major Lazor revealed that they had a collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Partynextdoor on the way, but that it wouldn’t be released until 2017. And guess what? It’s 2017 which means the wait is finally over and after weeks of teased snippets, the full song is here! It’s called “Run Up” and Nicki’s verse is fire.
Just in case you missed it, one very important lyric Nicki said was – “Bout to drop an album, this is my fourth.” I heard it, I believe it, now don’t lie to me Nicki. I need this to happen. “Run Up” has a classic Major Lazor sound and will be featured on their fourth album called Music is the Weapon. This isn’t the first time Nicki has teamed up with Diplo. They collaborated on Madonna’s song “Bitch I’m Madonna” back in 2015. I for one am very grateful that they reunited and am keeping my fingers crossed for more bangers to come.
