North Korea has done it again. Yes guys --- nothing is sacred anymore. This time… they hacked the Golden Globes.
As we’ve seen over the last few months, the country isn’t exactly pleased with our classy American cinematic masterpiece that is “The Interview.” Terrorist threats were made… e-mails were leaked… and the movie has now made way more money than it ever would have if it had just come out like it was supposed to. So what does North Korea want this time?
Okay okay, so I was totally kidding and it’s actually just Margaret Cho making an absolutely hilarious yet very politically incorrect cameo as a North Korean War leader who also serves as a contributing editor for “Movies WOW Magazine” annnnnd apparently also has an affinity for Orange Is The New Black.
But seriously --- Amy Poehler and Tina Fey wasted absolutely no time in whipping out the North Korea jokes. No seriously… like it was literally one of the first things they said.
Things continued to get weird when Margaret requested to pose for a picture with award show queen Meryl Streep. And PS yes – that magazine did say “KIM BREAKS THE INTERNET” … well done Golden Globes. Love the pop culture reference.
And while you might think that North Korea received the most hate of all topics the hosts touched on tonight ---- the joke’s on you Kim Jong-Un … the only topic that received more hate than North Korea was… well… The Interview …
So we’re pretty sure The Interview is probably going to go down in history as being one of the most successful bad movies of all time, sooo job well done North Korea.
And on a more melancholy note, as many of you know, it was announced that this is Tina and Amy’s last year hosting the Golden Globes. But not to worry --- they used the end of the show to pass the torch to their replacement….
