Annnnndd the winner of pretty much every single award at the 2015 Grammys goes to…. SAM SMITH. Guys, this is Clevver’s Trophy Life hook-up to the Grammys, so get with it because it’s time to get excited.
Sam Smith seriously SWEPT the Grammy’s, winning a total of 4 out of the 6 awards he was nominated for tonight, which actually isn’t too much of a surprise, seeing that he’s Sam Smith…
Sam, who was literally beaming with happiness the entire evening, took home the four awards for best new artist, record of the year, best pop vocal album and song of the year. He beat out tons of music’s biggest names, including Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Iggy Azalea and Miley Cyrus, but that didn’t stop him from accepting his awards as humble and kind as EVER.
But I would like to point out that Sam’s acceptance speeches were almost as tear-jerking as his entire album itself. During his very last acceptance speech for album of the year, he takes a moment to thank the person who inspired his album, In The Lonely Hour, saying this:
YES! Take that heartbreak and turn it into gold. Like, literally. He turned into gold.
And I also want to point out that during his speech for best pop vocal album, Sam reveals his past struggles when trying to make it big. Take a look:
And let me just tell you guys, I had the honor of interviewing same last year at the Grammys when he was just starting out, and there was really something special about him – you just knew that with that voice and kind heart, he was destined for massive success! Such a great person. SAM, we love you just the way you are!
So Sam, we just got question for you: Do you need some extra hands carrying all your Grammy awards to the car tonight? Because we’ll gladly volunteer as tribute!
