Selena Gomez HOSPITALIZED at Mental Health Facility After Emotional Breakdown

Selena Gomez is reportedly receiving treatment in a mental health facility following what TMZ is calling a QUOTE “emotional breakdown” that stemmed from health complications that came about one year after her life-saving kidney transplant.
The site reports that the 26-year-old singer was hospitalized twice in the last two weeks after becoming QUOTE “despondent” over news of a low white blood cell count. A family member allegedly drove her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she stayed for a few days, during the last week of September. She was eventually released, but reportedly had to be readmitted late last week because her white blood cell count did not improve and it allegedly sent her into a QUOTE “downward emotional spiral.”
Selena apparently tried to convince doctors to let her go, but they refused and she, according to sources, had a “meltdown” and “freaked out.” People close to the “Taki Taki” singer say she tried to rip the IVs out of her arm and had QUOTE “an emotional breakdown.”
The mental health facility is reportedly where Selena is receiving treatment is reportedly on the east coast and specializes in a form of therapy called DBT, which She has spoken highly of in the past.
She told Vogue magazine in March 2017 QUOTE “DBT has completely changed my life. I wish more people would talk about therapy. We girls, we’re taught to be almost too resilient, to be strong and sexy and cool and laid-back; the girl who’s down. We also need to feel allowed to fall apart.”
The former Disney Channel star secretly checked herself into rehab for the first time in January 2014 for exhaustion and to help her cope with her lupus diagnosis and then went back in September 2016 for a 90-day program to help her battle anxiety and depression.
Cardi B, who worked with Selena on “Taki Taki,” showed her love on Instagram Stories. She posted a picture of SelGo and wrote QUOTE “You Are Amazing.”
