The REAL Reason Selena Gomez's Mom Was Hospitalized

News broke yesterday that Selena Gomez’s mom, Mandy Teefey, was so shocked and upset when she learned that her daughter and Justin were officially dating again that she had to be hospitalized. TMZ explained that a family member requested officers come to the LA hotel where Mandy was staying in, and upon arrival decided to take her to the hospital.
But apparently the reason for her hospitalization actually had nothing to do with The Biebs. A source told People magazine QUOTE “It’s been a stressful time for Mandy and she made the decision herself to go to the hospital and make sure everything was okay. This wasn’t just about Justin. It’s true her family doesn’t approve of Justin, but this wasn’t just over a fight about him.”
The “Despacito” singer does know that Selena’s family is not his biggest fan, and is trying his best to win them over this time around.
The source continued QUOTE “Justin knows Selena’s family is not happy about her dating him. He has known for a long time. But he is adamant that he has changed and is a better boyfriend now. He will keep trying to prove himself to her family. He is sad that her mom is not doing well. Selena is very close with her mom, so it’s stressful for her. He wants Selena to be happy.”
Jelena apparently can’t spend Christmas together because her family doesn’t approve of the rekindled relationship. In fact, one of her family members said QUOTE “Justin is a vile human and will never be accepted by us. As long as she is even speaking to him in any way, it is not only disrespectful to everyone around her, it is disrespectful to herself."
Selena and her mom DID unfollow each other on Instagram recently, so it appears that the dating drama really is taking a toll on everyone.
It’s nice to know that Mandy’s reaction to Jelena 3.0 wasn’t so bad that it caused her to be hospitalized, but the fact that Selena’s family still feels so negatively about the relationship could definitely cause some problems in the long run.
