Shailene Woodley DRAGGED For Saying She Doesn't Watch TV At 2017 Emmys

In case you didn’t know The Emmys are all about honoring achievements in television. At this year’s Emmy Awards Shailene Woodley was nominated for best supporting actress in a limited series or TV movie for her starring role in Big Little Lies on HBO. And when Shailene walked the red carpet before the big award show, she stopped to talk to Jason Kennedy at E! News. That’s where the irony began.
Okay, so it’s not that Shailene specifically chose NOT to have a TV, she just doesn’t have a home to put one in. Instead of focusing on the fact that she doesn’t have a home, the E! News host asked her if not owning a television helps her relax.
It seems that just because Shailene is on TV, doesn’t mean she’s a fan of it. Critics online were quick to judge Shailene’s answer and point out the irony of where she revealed this statement. One Buzzfeed writer tweeted, “Shailene do you know what the Emmys are”. Others are angry that Shailene seemed to diss television during it’s big night.
If you recall, Shailene got her start in acting starring on The Secret Life of the American Teenager, a show that ran for five years. After that Shailene went on to star in movies including The Fault In Our Stars and the Divergent series. Do you guys thinks its cool that Shailene sorta spat on TV while on the Emmys red carpet?
