Sounds like Shailene Woodley has made her decision on whether or not she’s returning as Tris for the Divergent TV series.
Casting directors over at Lionsgate should probably start looking for a new lead because Shailene Woodley has no desire to return to the small screen for Ascendant.
Sorry Divergent fans, but the star of the movies has made up her mind. In an interview with E! News, Shailene was asked if she has any interest in following the franchise to TV and girl did not beat around the bush for this one.
After that statement, the actress reiterated her statement by saying QUOTE, ‘Out of respect to the whole scenario, there could be things that have changed, but I didn’t sign up to do a TV show.” We hear ya loud and clear, Shailene!
Ever since it was reported by Variety that the studio is planning on releasing the final Divergent film as a TV movie, some of the original cast members have voiced their concerns on the matter.
Miles Teller opened up to The Hollywood Reporter back in August about returning to the franchise as Peter by saying QUOTE, ‘We’ll see…Things do change anytime they’re messing with something that was not the original intention. We all signed on for it in hopes that it’d be released in theaters, and we all had every intention of finishing [the franchise].’
