Stranger Things fans, this one’s for you. The Netflix series has officially been confirmed for a third season, and co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer are already working on it. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the creators told Vulture there may only be one season after that: “We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out.” But then they offered an explanation saying, “We just have to keep adjusting the story. I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year.”
Is it bad that we kinda want something horrifying to happen to the characters each year? I mean, then we’d get more seasons of the show right? Season two of the series picks up a year after the events of season one with Eleven still in the Upside Down, with Will back safely on this side. One major difference this time around is that the show’s cast has catapulted to superstardom. PEOPLE Now chatted with Cara Buono who plays Mike’s Mom Karen Wheeler, and she dished on Millie Bobby Brown’s rise to fame, “She is so vibrant and so mature and I love her to death. I just think she’s one of the most intelligent, lovely young women. [Fame] really has not changed her. She’s just herself, but now more of the world knows who she is.”
And we agree with Cara one-hundred percent. Millie herself told Vulture that while she gets recognized now, her day-to-day isn’t all that different, “It’s definitely been affected by the show a big bunch, but it’s not different. I’m still the same person.” Gaten Matarazzo also had something to say about stardom, telling Vulture, “A lot of people consider us famous, but I think we all hate the F-word. All we are is people doing our job, and our job happens to be in the public eye a lot.” And if Gaten could get any more adorable he added later, “We really are best friends.”
It’s safe to say if these guys are just as endearing as they were when we first met them in season one. Find out if they survive the Upside Down for a second time when season two premieres October 27th. Do you guys think that the Stranger Things series a chance of surviving past season four? And do you think fame has changed the cast? Tell us all those thoughts down in the comment box. After that check out the opening credits from the new season of American Horror Story. As always I’m your host Drew Dorsey, I’ll see you guys next time.
