Stranger Things CONFIRMS that fan-favorite Eleven is returning for season 2!
Leggo that Eggo- because Eleven is back!
Netflix has confirmed that Eggo-loving Eleven is officially returning from the upside down for season 2. Stranger Things posted the first cast photo from the upcoming season, and it’s of a table read on set in Atlanta… but the photo is completely upside down. Once we turn it around we can see the caption reads QUOTE, “back in production. See you next year. #strangerthings”. The upside down photo is of course a nod to the terrifying alternate universe on the show. If you forgot, at the end of season 1 (SPOILER!!!) we finally got Will back. But Eleven AKA Millie Bobby Brown went missing on the other side after fighting a Demogorgon.
In the cast photo we see newcomers Sadie Sink as Max and Dacre Montgomery as Billy along with Millie, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Kreery, and Noah Schnapp. While Winona Ryder and David Harbour aren’t seen in the photo, Netflix previously confirmed their return to the show as well. The only person that seems to be missing is Nancy’s bestie Barb, who was killed off in season 1.
Millie also posted the cast photo to her Instagram and wrote, “011 is back! It's official, can't wait to be back working with this lovely cast again for #strangerthings thank you to the amazing duffer brothers for having el back for a second season!”
Netflix hasn’t given us any specific premiere date yet, but we do know season 2 of STranger Things will be set in the fall of 1982, a year after the events of season 1. The shows creators Matt and Ross Duffer have teased a “darker” second season and QUOTE, “a bigger mythology behind what happened.” Seeing as we were pretty terrified of season 1, we’re not sure we can handle a “darker” season 2! Tell me below what you think of Eleven returning and what you think a “darker” season 2 means? Then be sure to check out the mouthguard challenge on the latest That Got Weird episode! Thanks for hanging out, I’m your host Meghan Lamontagne.
