Taylor Swift BEATS OUT Ariana Grande & Billie Eilish At The American Music Awards!

Well, we weren’t sure if it was going to happen, but I’m so happy it did because Taylor’s performance slayed me and everybody else who was watching the American Music Awards.What’s up guys it’s Dani Golub here with Clevver News and we ALL need to calm down after watching Taylor honor the past 10 years of her career by performing some of her biggest hits of the decade.She performed songs off of all of her past albums, not just the ones that were released in the past 10 years. And it was almost like we got a little mini-Lover fest sneak peek right in our living rooms. She started off singing “The Man”, which was an obvious nod to her ongoing feud with Big Machine Records and Scooter Braun. She sang some of our older favorites like Love Story, I Knew You Were Trouble, Blank Space, and Shake It Off.Fans couldn’t help but notice that some of her older songs had a new, different spin on them. And one theory was that this is how they will sound when Taylor eventually goes and re-records her old songs in late 2020. And of course, she had to give us some of her newer hits too, finishing her medley with “Lover”.There were plenty of references to her old album titles, like in the outfit that she wore when she first came on stage, or carved into the piano that she played when she sang “Lover”. She even brought out her friends Halsey and Camila Cabello for her performance of “Shake It Off”.During her Reputation Stadium World Tour, she did the same thing with her openers - Camila and Charli XCX. Though Charli wasn’t at the AMAs tonight, but Halsey filled her shoes flawlessly! After her performance, Taylor was presented with the “Artist of the Decade” award by music legend and Rock & Roll hall of famer, Carole King.And Taylor gave a heartwarming speech afterwards where she shared her gratitude to Carole King and thanked her fans for sticking around with her, every step of the way. And you know what, it was a very well-deserved award.And it wasn’t the only win that Taylor had tonight. She officially beat Michael Jackson’s record of the most awarded artist in American Music Award history. She scored her 25th win with the “best pop/rock album” category, when she beat out Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande. And even she admitted that it was a tough category to win during her acceptance speech. She also said that “Lover” felt like a new beginning to her, which as another possible allusion to the drama she’s been involved in for the past few weeks. As the announcer said during Taylor’s introduction, in the past 10 years, Taylor has achieved so much. She is the youngest person to be named Billboard Magazine artist of the year - and the only person to achieve that award twice.But I want to hear what you thought about Taylor’s performance!
