Taylor is not one to set boundaries and this interview is no exception as she gets real about topics like befriending Kanye West and yes, even dating her friends’ exes…
First things first, it’s no question Taylor has admitted about 75% of Hollywood into her squad, but the 25-year-old also realizes she has made her share of enemies. One topic she touched on during the interview was her shocking newfound friendship with her most known enemy, Kanye West, saying QUOTE, "I feel like I wasn't ready to be friends with Kanye until I felt like he had some sort of respect for me, and he wasn't ready to be friends with me until he had some sort of respect for me.”
She also reveals that her friendship with rapper Jay-Z helped mend the friendship and that she and Kanye have both reached a place where they can complement each other’s music and talk about his daughter North West.
Taylor also opened up about her other nemesis, Spotify, and how she stayed up until 4 a.m. writing the infamous letter to Apple music and expressing her fears to her mom, Andrea Swift. She was worried that QUOTE, "People would say, 'Why won't she shut up about this?'...My fears were that I would be looked at as someone who just whines and rants about this thing that no one else is really ranting about."
After her letter went viral, she recalls that QUOTE, "Apple treated me like I was a voice of a creative community that they actually cared about. And I found it really ironic that the multi-billion-dollar company reacted to criticism with humility, and the start-up with no cash flow reacted to criticism like a corporate machine.”
But one group that Taylor has no hostility toward is her famous girl squad, of course. She opens up about their unbreakable sisterhood, and even about dating each other’s exes. She says, "It's almost like the sisterhood has such a higher place on the list of priorities for us. When you've got this group of girls who need each other as much as we need each other, in this climate, when it's so hard for women to be understood and portrayed the right way in the media... now more than ever we need to be good and kind to each other and not judge each other— and just because you have the same taste in men, we don't hold that against each other."
