Taylor Swift is celebrating the one year anniversary of 1989 in the best way possible; with a stripped down version of “Out of the Woods” and you may wanna grab the tissues for this one…
And if you thought you were finally finished weeping at the heartbreaking lyrics after one year, all those memories are about to come flooding back in the best way possible.
The one-year anniversary of 1989 has been one to remember and we couldn’t have asked for a better gift from T-Swift herself after she took to Twitter yesterday to share a link with the caption QUOTE, “To celebrate #HappyBirthday1989, here's something from me. Out of the Woods (solo acoustic piano performance)”, and what we heard could only be mistaken as the voice of an angel. Check it out:
Not only did Tay share this as part of 1989’s one year anniversary, but she also debuted the clip as part of her Grammy Museum exhibit, when she originally performed the track that was co-written with Jack Antonoff at the Clive Davis Theater on September 30th.
She prefaced the performance by saying QUOTE, “I’m going to play you a song that I wrote about a relationship that I was in that the number one feeling I felt in the relationship was anxiety because it felt very fragile. It felt very tentative. But it doesn’t mean that it’s not special and extraordinary just to have a relationship that’s fragile and somehow meaningful in that fragility.”
And after revisiting all the heartbreak all over again just makes us wonder why on earth Taylor has not released a 1989 acoustic album, so petition for a stripped down album? I THINK YES. But most importantly, I’m curious to know what you guys thought about Taylor’s performance of “Out of the Woods” and which other songs you’d like to hear a stripped down version of, so get the conversation going right down here and for even more T-Swift news and performances, you can click right over here to subscribe to Clevver News so you won’t miss a thing.
