Taylor Swift is single handedly proving that YES people do still buy music, or at least her fans do because girlfriend is forecasted to sell as whopping 1.2 million copies of her album 1989 in it’s first week out. In the words of TS herself WE HAVE NO CHILL. So guys, Not only does this mean Tay will beat her own RED record – FYI she sold 1.21 million in the first week for that release but this means she’ll also have the most sales for album release for this entire year AND…wait for it…this will also mark the largest sales in a week for any album in one week since RED (which again was HER album) and if that’s not enough…if the forecasting we’re talking about here is correct, it will make her the only act to earn 3 million-selling weeks.
Dolla dolla bills y’all. Oh and yes, in case you were wondering that was Seth Green. But friends, this is absolutely huge news – yes, we get it Taylor Swift is one of the biggest artists on the planet, but in a climate where people hardly ever actually buy music let alone buy full albums, this sales news a really big deal. And we’re glad to see our girl Taylor enjoying such well-deserved success. And let’s just have a moment of realness here – is anyone out there legitimately surprised by any of this?
