The Weeknd released the artwork for his upcoming album called “Starboy” last night, and fans immediately freaked out at the singer’s new ‘do...
WHERE DID HIS HAIR GO?! The haircut was so shocking that fans Tweeted out reactions like “The Weeknd Cut his hair...what is the true meaning of life?” and “The Weeknd cut his hair off, how many more tragedies do we have to endure in 2016?” So needless to say, everyone is pretty devastated about it. But like most haircuts, I’m sure we’ll come around to this one eventually...right guys? Yeah, no...Honestly I think we can all agree that he just needs to grow it back as soon as possible.
But okay, let’s try to forget the hair for a second and focus on the music. The first single Weeknd released from “Starboy” is the album’s title track, and it’s definitely a bit of a different sound than we’re used to hearing from the Weeknd, probably because he collaborated with Daft Punk this time around. Now I know all this change is a lot to take in right now, but just take a deep breath and give it a chance...
Okay this track is HOT. I’m totally digging it! And if you find yourself listening to this track on repeat, the you’ll notice that there’s a lyric in the song that actually references Brad Pitt, who, as we all know, is in the limelight BIG TIME these days, thanks to Angelina filing to divorce him this week.
The lyric references a 1994 movie Brad starred in called “Legends of the Fall”, and alludes to that entire year being huge for the actor, as he was also nominated for a Golden Globe for the film “Interview with a Vampire”. It’s obviously just a coincidence, but we’re sure Brad Pitt is just as nostalgic for those glory days right about now as the Weeknd is in his song...But seriously talk about strange timing, right?!
