Why Lorde Isn't Performing At 2018 Grammy Awards

It came, as a surprise to us all when we got word that Lorde, one of the five artists nominated for album of the year, would not be performing tonight at the Grammys. This is now the second nominee in that category that won’t be performing. And the reason she isn’t ? Well, let’s just say there was a bit of disagreement involved.
A source close to Lorde opened up about the issue, saying that producers from the award show wouldn’t let Lorde have a solo performance, only offering her the chance to perform along with other artists during the Tom Petty tribute. And, after a heated back and forth, they couldn’t come to an agreement, so Lorde backed out altogether.
The weird part about all of this? Sources are saying that the other 4 nominees, whom are all men, did get offers to perform solo. Though reportedly, Jay-Z declined, all the other nominees, including Bruno Mars, Childish Gambino, and Kendrick Lamar are set to perform. Innnnteresting.
