Break out the T-Swift award show award show moves because not only is ya girl set to perform a new song off 1989 album, she’s also set to OPEN the show. WHAT IS LIFE.
As if Sunday’s Super Bowl festivities and half time show weren’t already enough to kick off an epic week leading up to the Grammys, but it was also announced that Taylor Swift, who’s up for 7 Grammy noms this year, is set to open the show next Monday, singing one of her original songs off of her 1989 album.
It hasn’t been confirmed exactly which song Taylor will perform, however we do know that she will be singing a song that isn’t up for an award, which will mark the first she’s performed the song on live television.
Other Grammy performers this year include Adele, James Bay, Ellie Goulding, Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Carrie Underwood and The Weeknd to name a few, and just last week it was announced that Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Diplo, Skrillex, Chris Stapleton, Pitbull, Robin Thicke, Travis Barker and the Hollywood Vampires AKA Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry among many others will also be performing.
And I think we can all agree that this year’s Grammy Awards are already shaping up to be one for the books, so we’re just gonna have to power through the rest of this week, and I know y’all can push through! But right now, I want to know what you think about Taylor being added to the list of Grammy performers and what song you think she’ll be performing, so get to talking right down here in the comments section. After that, don’t forget to click right over here to check out all the highlights from last night’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, and trust me, you DON’T want to muss this. Thanks so much for checking in with me here on Clevver’s Trophy Life, I’m your host Jackie Iadonisi and may your Monday be as strong as your coffee.
