Unfortunately Z didn’t drop a release date for the new music he plans on sharing with the world during his interview with Elle India, but I think he gave us all something way better. In his chat with the mag, Zayn revealed that he’s already recorded a whopping 87 songs, but only 10 of the 87 will make it onto the final record.
Honestly, there’s no point in wasting all that hard word, so he might as well just release the rest of the 77 onto multiple albums. Anyway, Zayn went on to reveal more details behind the sound and vibe of his upcoming sophomore album and said QUOTE, “There’s definitely a lot of Urdu; some nice qawwali sounds. There might even be some bhangra vibes.”
On top of the new music and album deets, Zayn also opened up about working with AR Rahman on one of his songs to give it a Bollywood feel. He said QUOTE, “It was interesting, because [my team] was talking to him first, saying ‘Bollywood, Bollywood…’ Then he came on Skype, and said, ‘There are a thousand different types of Bollywood. What do you mean?” I had to explain we wanted a more qawwali, sufi kind of sound, and he got it straight away.”
And speaking of Bollywood, Z confirmed to Elle India that he has also recorded a song for a Bollywood film saying, “It’s one of the first songs I’ve sung in full Hindi, so it’s going to be cool to see what the response to that is.” All of this new information about his upcoming album is getting me so hyped, but enough from me. I wanna know what you think!
