Did One Direction tell Amy Schumer to put on some make-up so she doesn’t look like the girl from The Ring?
Ehhh…kind of but not really - On Tuesday’s episode of Inside Amy Schumer on Comedy Central, a group of One Direction impersonators performed a parody of “What Makes You Beautiful” by putting their own spin on the tune with a little number called “Girl You Don’t Need Makeup.”
The song started off telling Amy to embrace her natural beauty and take off all that face paint, but when she finally did the boys weren’t ready for what was underneath and they quickly changed their minds singing – “Girl, I want to get real with you. I got a lot of regrets in my life. I regret missing my father's funeral to audition for The Voice. I regret being high when my niece was born. But most of all, I regret telling you not to wear makeup.
See, it's like I tore up shag carpet hoping there was hardwood floors underneath. But it turns out to be just dirty linoleum. These are just metaphors, girl. But they are about your face."
Of course it was all in good fun, and I am on team “love yourself no matter what”…but this ish was kinda funny.
Other lines from the mixed messaged parody say – “ Ho-ho-hold up, girl / We spoke too soon / With this whole no makeup tune / We kinda changed our minds on the makeup thing / You'll be the hottest girl in the nation / With just a touch of foundation.”
The struggle is real for us ladies out there – but just know that you ARE beautiful without makeup. Beyonce isn’t the only one waking up lookin’ flawless! Yes, Im talking to you.
