During a recent interview to promote her new collaboration with Goodwill, the comedian revealed some very emotional details about her own body image struggles.
The partnership with Goodwill clothing stores is inspired by Amy Schumer’s own hopes to empower women through fashion and she did just that during her interview on The Today Show, where she also broke down in tears. Check it out:
Amy also revealed that QUOTE, “It’s been a struggle for me my whole life, especially just being in the entertainment industry, standing on a stage in front of people.” She went on to say that sometimes her insecurities really did get the best of her, adding QUOTE “And sometimes I would just want to throw in the towel and be like, ‘I’m not gonna go do standup tonight.’”
However, Amy was able to admit that she gained a lot of confidence after filming her latest box office success, Trainwreck, thanks to her stylist for the film, Leesa Evans. She said QUOTE “Leesa had given me this gift of showing me how to dress and feel good,” and now she’s hoping to do the same for women all over the world.
