Calvin Harris and John Newman’s highly anticipated Taylor Swift tell-all single has just been released and this one is sure to have the people talkin’…
Ok, so ‘low key’, I’m kinda vibin’ this whole reggae tropical house mix, but as exciting as the hype may be, I’m thinkin this is just one big coincidence... but you be the judge.
All chill was immediately lost following news that Calvin Harris would be releasing a newly produced track featuring vocals from John Newman, and when word got out that it had to do with a breakup, of course all signs pointed to that tall blonde skinny ex-girlfriend of his… yeah, T-Swift you’re on our radar.
The new single called, “Olé”, was rumored to be written in Tay’s new beau Tom Hiddleston’s point of view and does contain the cryptic lyrics that were released earlier this week, alluding to Tom’s Thor character Loki, as one lyric says, “Low-key, you won’t tell none of your friends about me.” But the rest of the lyrics, well, I’ll let you decide…
Ok so either this was a not-so-subtle dig to get the people talking, or it was the biggest coincidence of the year. Either way, many sources close to the DJ have stated that QUOTE, “There's no way it could be about Tom. This song has nothing to do with Taylor. He likes this song a lot. People can interpret the song how they want to, but in the end it's just an artist expression.”
Sources close to Taylor also spoke out saying, “People are just making assumptions to get attention for a song.” And although the song does have to do with a seriously scandalous affair, seeing that even more of the lyrics read, “You've hidden my name on your phone so you can/ Call me to tell me you've been going through hell/ Left him alone and you booked in a hotel," Calvin’s team was quick to confirm that the track was recorded months ago.
Both Calvin and John spoke about it, as John revealed to MTV back in May that QUOTE, “We were so proud of the success of ‘Blame' and then we kinda listened to this new song and we were like, ‘This is totally different to anything we've ever made and done together.’”
Ok, so maybe the song’s release date wasn’t the greatest timing, buuut all timing and cryptic lyrics aside, I’m dying to know all your thoughts on the matter… do you think it was subtly written about Taylor or do you think it was just another media ploy, because you know we’re gonna talk about it?
