The 2019 Billboard Music Awards took Vegas by storm last night with some major performances and even bigger winners, and we’re breakin’ it all down right now.
What’s up guys, it’s Emile Ennis Jr back here on Clevver News, and lemme just say, some major records were broken last night as celebs took home a slew of hefty hardware and brought their A-Game in some of the best performances we’ve seen all year.
Kicking off the list of winners, Cardi B, who originally led the pack with 21 nominations, took home a BBMA for top female rap artist, Top Rap Song for her hit “I Like It” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin, as well as FOUR awards for her collab with Maroon 5 “Girls Like You”.
New artist awards of the evening went to Juice WRLD, and this group is definitely not ‘new’, but their comeback has been out of this world. Not only did Panic! At The Disco perform twice tonight, but they ended up going home with two BBMAs for Top Rock Album and Top Rock Song.
Ariana Grande (to nobody’s surprise) left her mark on the BBMA stage last night, performing her single “7 Rings” and also nabbing an award for Top Female as well as the Billboard Chart Achievement Award. Oh, and for this next one, you might wanna get the earplugs out
BTS was evidently a fan-favorite last night (and like… every night) as they not only went home with Top Duo/Group and Top Social Artist awards, but performed their new collab “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey.
Top Touring Artist went to Ed Sheeran and Top R&B AND Rap Tour went out to the Queen and her counterpart, Beyonce and Jay Z. Continuing the R&B category was Ella Mai who won Top R&B Artist and Female Artist, and The Weeknd with the R&B Male category.
And last… but certainly NOT least… DRIZZY MADE IT RAIN, earning himself 12 BBMA awards, dubbing him the most awarded BBMA artist in history, bringing his all-time total up to 27. He took home awards for… (*host to read fast*) Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Songs Sales Artist…
Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Rap Album AND Top Streaming Song (Video). SHEESH IS THAT ALL? But in all seriousness, I’ve gotta give a big congrats to ALL of last night’s winners, and if you haven’t yet, feel free to do so down here in the comments, and you can find me on Instagram, Twitter, & YouTube @emileennisjr. Then don’t forget to click right over here for another new video, and don’t forget to subscribe and hit that bell so you never miss an update. Thanks for tuning in and I’ll see you next time!
