Celebs react to the Chicago Cubs winning the 2016 World Series all over Twitter!
The Cubs historically won the world series for the first time in 108 years last night, so unsurprisingly, a lot of celebs had a lot to say about it.
Even if you’re not a regular fan of baseball or the Cubs themselves, you’ve gotta respect that winning a world series after 108 years of losing is incredible. Which is why celebrity fans of the team took to twitter to share their excitement, support, and downright shock. SNL’s Leslie Jones Tweeted a simple yet enthusiastic “YASSSSS”, while actress Emmy Rossum was a little more emotional with her response, Tweeting QUOTE “Out of body experience being here for Chicago's historic win. SO SO overjoyed for this town and this young team that fought so hard.” Yup, we’re definitely expecting a heartfelt biopic about the team and their huge win by this time next year. #GetOnThatHollywood
And of course it was the perfect opportunity for some of our favorite comedians to make some epic jokes about the Cubs’ historic win, such as Stephen Colbert and his Tweet, “Cubs win! Congrats Chicago - see you in 2124!“, as well as Seth Rogan’s Tweet “Congrats to all my comedy friends from Chicago. This joy will make you less funny for a few months.” Hopefully they’ll be funny again before 2124.
And even President Obama got in on the fun, tweeting, “That's change even this South Sider can believe in. Want to come to the White House before I leave?” Okay, an invitation to the White House is pretty much ultimate goals, and I think it’s fair to say those guys definitely deserve it. So congratulations to the Cubs and all the Cubs fans out there--the curse has been broken!
