The incident hits all too close to home for the Grimmie Family.
If you recall, singer Christina Grimmie was brutally shot and killed during a meet and greet after her concert in Orlando Florida just one year ago. An infatuated fan simply walked up to her and opened fire, and Christina’s brother was able to tackle the shooter before he harmed countless more people.
Needless to say, Sunday’s Las Vegas massacre hit close to home for the Grimmie Family. A gunman opened fired on the crowd of a country music festival and killed 58 people, wounding HUNDREDS more.
The Grimmie Family has released a heartfelt statement for the Christina Grimmie Foundation, posted to Christina’s official Twitter account. The family writes QUOTE: “We are beyond devastated to hear of last night’s tragedy in Las Vegas. Our heart, thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims and the family and friends of those who were taken last night. We truly understand what these families are going through and hope to help in some way.”
The Christina Grimmie Foundation’s mission is to provide support to those “who suffer from the devastating effects of gun violence”. Christina’s fans have since sent the family an outpouring of love in response to their emotional statement.
