From duets, to professional orchestras to Prince tributes, Demi and Nick hit all the stops during their Independence Day performance, but really, we’d expect nothing less.
One quick stop in Boston in between slaying on their Future Now tour, and Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas have exceeded our expectations with a stellar performance during the annual Boston Pops Firework Spectacular.
Performing alongside each other with the Boston Pops Orchestra, Demi and Nick kicked off the annual outdoor event under the Hatch Memorial Shell, where Demi opened the show with a bang singing her hit “Cool for the Summer”. The two took turns, when Nick kept the high energy going, as he belted out his hit single “Chains”, and if you’re suddenly confused whether the serious heat is coming from the summer temperature or this song… I’ll give you a hint right now:
The two then took a break from their own hits and channeled their inner USA, singing a stunning duet of ‘America the Beautiful’ and yes, those high notes were equally as impactful as last night’s sky full of fireworks:
Demi also joined Nick in singing one of his newest singles “Close”, taking Tove Lo’s usual part, and the two continued to sing hit after hit. However, following Demi and Nick’s heartfelt tribute to the Orlando victims during their Orlando show last week, where they also gave Pulse nightclub staffers their condolences and support, Demi took another break from her original tracks to pay a tribute to the late singer Prince, belting out his most popular single, “Purple Rain” in pure Prince perfection.
This stop, which was broadcasted on CBS, marks one small, but mighty performance in between Demi and Nick’s Future Now tour, which will pick back up tomorrow night in Connecticut, only to return back to Boston later this month, but right now, I want to know all your thoughts on their star-studded performance, and if you’re looking forward to see Demi and Nick in your hometown, share all your excitement with me right down here in the comments section below.
