People mag got the scoop straight from the source – Demi’s mom said: Selena spent a lot of time at our house when she was growing up. At one time, I was home-schooling my girls and her mom was working, so she would come over and home-school with my girls, and it was some of the best times of our lives. She was like a sister to my girls!
Dianna added that [Selena] and Demi were auditioning for the same things because they were the same age, they were both Hispanic, they both had dark hair — so she ended up going to a lot of auditions with us, they started out together! We had some great times together. They will always will love each other. There’s nothing that will ever come between them.
The book is expected to tackle a ton of the family’s personal story, including some of Demi’s personal struggles. Dianna told people that she really wanted to share their story because other people out there might connect. And she definitely has Demi’s blessing because the star actually wrote the foreword for and she told the mag “I’m so proud of my mom for achieving something she’s always wanted to do — tell her story. She’s resilient, inspiring and strong. Because of her journey and strength to overcome the obstacles that she’s faced in her life, she is my hero.
