Descendants 3 Officially CONFIRMED By Disney Channel

Disney Channel just announced that Descendants 3 is OFFICIALLY happening and we could’ve be more excited.
It’s time to go back to Auradon!
The Disney Channel Original Movie series Descendants is one of the network’s most popular and highest-rated movies of all time. The first movie had a premiere rating of over 7 million viewers and it became the fifth most watched original movie in cable history.
Two years later Descendants 2 was released and it broke even more records and has been viewed a whopping 21 million times and just passed the 2 BILLION mark on YouTube. With the massive success of the first two, fans couldn’t help but wonder if we would see the gang get back together one more time so the franchise becomes a trilogy.
The cast of Descendants has gotten progressively more popular and their schedules have been filling up, especially for Dove Cameron. Dove plays Mal, the daughter of Maleficent, and is the lead of the series. Due to Dove’s demanding film schedule, we weren’t sure if a third Descendants would be possible.
Thankfully we were proved wrong! Fans started to speculate that the third installment was coming when Disney Channel teased that they had MAJOR DCOM news to share during the premiere of the newest movie ZOMBIES. Just as we suspected, we got the news that Descendants 3 is officially happening. We even got a teaser trailer that shows Mal walking through the woods to a mysterious blue light and when she hears her name coming from the light, she shocks everyone by saying “dad?”. Can we say that it already looks like this is going to be the best Descendants yet??
We love how we are already getting some details on what to expect from the third movie and the fact that we’re going to learn more about Mal’s father and family background has us already wanting to fast forward to summer 2019!
