Disney’s Descendants 2 has announced some new cast members and characters.
Descendants immediately became one of our favorite Disney Channel original movies ever last year, and it sounds like Descendants 2 is going to be just as fun.
If you haven’t seen the original Descendants movie, you should watch it immediately, but just to catch you up, Descendants followed the story of the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains, including Jafar, Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, and the Evil Queen from Snow White. The troublesome teens get a chance to attend the fairytale prep school they were originally banned to attend thanks to a proclamation made by Queen Belle and King Beast’s hunky son, Ben, and of course, drama and hilarity ensue.
The movie was a huge hit for obvious reasons, a) we’re all obsessed with Disney movies, and b) seeing what the kids of Disney villains are like in high school is pretty much the most hilarious idea ever. So it’s really no surprise that Disney would decide to make a sequel.
Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart, and Sofia Carson are set to reprise their roles as Mal, Carlos, Jay, and Evie, while actress China Anne McClain will join the cast playing Ursula from the Little Mermaid’s daughter. Hmm, no doubt Ursula’s daughter is going to be stirring up some trouble if that apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Mitchell Hope will also return to play the gorgeous Prince Ben, so prepare yourselves for major sparks to fly between him and Mal once again.
Also being added to the mix of characters will be the sons of Captain Hook and Gaston, but casting is still currently underway for those roles. So call me crazy, but those guys plus Ursula’s daughter...sounds like there’s gonna be even more drama at Auradon Prep this time around.
