No this isn’t Throwback Thursday or Flashback Friday, Rod Stewart performed a modern version of Do You Think I’m Sexy at this years VMA’s. The song which was originally released in 1978 is still a hit at parties (well depending on the party), but now we have a newer version to jam to with the help of DNCE. Stewart recently partnered with Republic Records, the same label as DNCE, so a collaboration was not a huge surprise. Check it out.
Can we talk about Joe Jonas’ mustache for a second? We kind of like it. Also JinJoo’s iridescent dress is pretty amazing. The performance was live from Vegas and we loved the nod to the 70s. The costumes definitely were a throwback that got us in the mood, but we couldn’t help but smile when Rod Stewart appeared.
They even had a break-dancing moment just to make sure we knew we were back in the 70s. Break-dancing originated in New York back in the early 70s just in case you didn’t know. So this was another fun nod to that decade.
Honestly, the party looked like fun. They performed on the rooftop of the palms hotel in Vegas and I’m not gonna lie, I may have to request this at the next party I’m at. The new collaboration was released as a single late last week and as you can see it’s a little more uptempo and definitely has more of a rock vibe, but the coolest part is this song may have just been introduced to a new generation thanks to DNCE coming on board. This DNCE/Rod Stewart combo is making us wonder if a collab album is coming. Probably not, but I think that would pretty awesome, but what do you think?
