Ed Sheeran got really real in the latest interview of British GQ. We love Ed because he is usually humble and so down to earth but he didn’t hold back one bit with this Q and A. Ed compared himself to Taylor Swift saying quote, “"She wants to be the biggest female artist in the world, and I want to be the biggest male artist in the world." Hey nothing wrong with having some fire when it comes to your career. But then he went on to say, “There are a lot of singer-songwriters around now. I'm not the first, but there are more than before. I'm very happy for everyone to be in the same race as me, even if they copy every single thing I've done." Oh shoot! The confidence! The shade!
Fans were not having this confidence because they erupted on Twitter with the hashtag #EdSheeranIsOverParty. Oh and it doesn’t stop there @velvetgaga tweeted Ed has some nice music I will admit, but if there's one thing I can't stand are arrogant and overly-cocky people #EdSheeranIsOverParty
And @Boy_KatyCatt tweeted, "They copy everything I do"
Then explain why did you copy Cheap Thrills and The Greatest by Sia to create Shape of You.”
Ed did respond to all of the chaos by saying that his words were taken out of context. He tweeted “Some stuff I've said is being taken out of context, you should never hide your goals or ambitions, be proud of what you do.”
What do you think of Eds British GQ interview? Cocky or confidant? Let us know in the comments. Thanks for watching! I’m your host Meghan Lamontagne and I’ll catch ya later!
