During one of her many sold out shows, Adele called out a fan who was filming her with a tripod by telling her to take it down and enjoy the show in real life.
All of us have been guilty of whipping out our phones to catch concert moments on snapchat or to post them on the gram, but it’s all fun and games until you get called out by the artist.
During her show in Verona, Italy on Sunday night, Adele kindly asked a fan to please stop filming her after she spotted the fan capturing every moment of the show with a camera on a tripod. Now holding a camera and filming the whole concert is already a lot, but a tripod takes it to a whole other level and Adele wasn’t happy:
Immediately after Adele’s request, the audience roared with applause in support of Adele’s wishes. And I must say, as tempting as it is to capture the show on your phone or go pro so that you can enjoy it forever, you do miss what’s going on directly in front of you. How often do you actually get to see the performer in the flesh? You get to see them on a screen most of the time so you might as well enjoy them with your own eyes while they’re standing right in front of you. And Adele isn’t the only performer who has spoken out against fans not living in the moment during shows. Many celebs, including Beyonce have said that fans holding cameras makes them feel like they’re living in a fishbowl and that it takes from the intimacy of the show. So camera’s down and eyes front people.
