Good news, Fifty Shades fans — the upcoming sequels officially have release dates.
Today’s episode of Clevver News Feed is brought to you by the new movie The Age of Adaline - in theaters today!
That’s right, though it’s been a bumpy road for the sequels to get going — from reported contract disputes to some drama about who would write the screenplay — it was announced during Cinema Con in Las Vegas on Thursday that the movies sequels, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, will hit theaters on February 10, 2017 and February 9, 2018, respectively. No word yet on when filming will start… But since the sequels are getting back to back releases, we have a feeling they’re going to also film them back to back, a la Twilight.
So, yes… It’ll be awhile before you need to bust out those silver ties, but wait, my friends, There’s more… That’s not the only exciting piece of Fifty Shades news to emerge this week — Access Hollywood also shared a first look photo at the sequel Fifty Shades Freed, with this photo of Jamie Dornan, aka Christian Grey, wearing a mysterious masquerade mask.
It was also revealed earlier this week that EL James’ husband Niall Leonard, will be in charge of writing the screenplay for Fifty Shades Darker. So basically, it’s been a really good week for Fifty Shades fans.
Also, side note, it’s quite interesting that they’ve decided to keep the final book as one movie and not split it up like every other book to movie adaptation. I mean just look at Harry Potter, Twilight, The Hunger Games, Divergent — you get the picture.
The movie has made over half a BILLION dollars at the box office, so you’d they they’d want to milk it for all it’s worth!
