Is pop princess Taylor Swift about to drop a hip hop & R&B album?!
Okay guys, brace yourself. Because while we thought Tay was just collabing with Drake on one song, she might actually be making a whole hip hop album!
According to British paper The Sun, Taylor is not only rumored to be dating Drake--she’s now rumored to be working with him on her entire next album, because she wants more of a “hip hop” vibe. A source for the paper explained of the rumored move QUOTE, 'Taylor is always looking at ways to grow as an artist and really wants to try something different and unexpected for the next album.'
Okay, okay, let’s try to digest this. Are we on board for a song collaboration with Drake? Absolutely! But an entire Taylor Swift hip hop album? That may be too much to handle. But who knows, if Tay can transition from country cutie to bonafide pop goddess, maybe this next step will prove that she is an artist who can transcend all genres of music. After all, we LOVED her collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on Bad Blood, so we can’t be too quick to judge, right?
All that being said, this could all just be one giant rumor--including that Taylor and Drake are dating--to keep us in high anticipation of the single they’re surely dropping annnnny minute now. If that’s the case, congrats Taylor--once again, you’ve got our undivided attention.
On the bright side, at least it’s not a rumor that Tay’s making an attempt at a heavy metal album, right? #SilverLinings.
So what do you guys think of the prospect of T. Swift dropping a hip hop album? Are you totally loving it or cringing at the thought?
