Kanye West will definitely be in attendance at Sunday’s Video Music Awards. MTV just announced that he will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the show.
The prestigious award went to Beyoncé last year and Justin Timberlake in 2013. While Beyoncé and Justin both put on some iconic performances when they received the award, it’s still unknown if Kanye will perform this Sunday.
Regardless, it sounds like Kanye will at least be at the show, which just makes us even more excited to watch. We can’t wait to hear that acceptance speech!
Kanye’s had a lot of memorable moments at the VMAs, the most memorable being the time he interrupted Taylor Swift’s speech during the 2009 show.
After that incident, Kanye and Taylor didn’t have the best relationship. But, the two have since made up and there’s no more bad blood. So, if Kanye does perform, we can expect Taylor to be front row, dancing like crazy to his songs. Please perform, Kanye!
The MTV VMAs take place this Sunday, August 30. So, be sure to mark your calendars and get ready for a memorable show. It’s being hosted by Miley Cyrus after all, so you know she has some surprises in store for all of us!
