Rihanna To Win MTV Video Vanguard Award at 2016 VMAs - Joins Ocean's 8 Cast

Following in the footsteps of Beyonce and Kanye, this year Rihanna will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the Video Music Awards, which is the highest honor of the night. She relayed the announced last night via Twitter saying QUOTE - "Honored to take the #VMAs stage as your video #VANGUARD award recipient LIVE from NYC on August 28!," On top of receiving the night’s biggest honor, Rihanna is additionally nominated for four moon men this year including Best Female Video for “Work,” two in the Best Collaborations categories and a joint award with Calvin Harris in the Best Male Video category for “This Is What You Came For.” This year also marks the first time the VMAs will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York so no doubt it’s going to be one heck of a show.
But that’s not the only thing Rihanna has to be excited about. It was recently reported that she is in negotiation to join the upcoming all female reboot of Ocean’s Eleven alongside Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kahling, and Nora Lum. Production is scheduled to begin in October so Rihanna is definitely not showing in signs of slowing down.
