Beyoncé takes home the coveted Video of the Year award for “Formation” at the 2016 VMAs!
The leader of Beyoncé’s fan club, Kanye West, can go home happy- Beyoncé took home the highest honor of the night.
Ryan Lochte AKA Jimmy Fallon presented Queen B with Video of the Year for her video “Formation” during the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards at Madison Square Garden in NYC. Dressed in an angelic sheer white gown Queen B accepted the silver Moon Man graciously. She started by thanking her daughter Blue Ivy and husband Jay Z for all their support. Once and for all proving all is well in the Carter household, following her Lemonade album filled with marriage infidelity themes that raised a LOT of eyebrows. In her speech Beyoncé also took the time to call out the video’s director, choreographer, and her team for their sleepless nights and hard work. Take a look.
Queen B ended by dedicating her win to the people of New Orleans a natural tie in to the video’s backdrop. Beyoncé was nominated for the most awards at this year’s show- that would be 11- and took home the most awards of the night by far with 7! Not to mention her fifteen minute medley performance. So it’s safe to say she owned the night. Now it’s your turn! Tell me below if you agree that “Formation” was the best video of the year and if you still have hot sauce in your bag. Then be sure to also check out Ariana and Nicki Minaj’s hot hot pink performance at this year’s show.
