Katy Perry Calls Taylor Swift a "Sweetheart" & Kanye a "Villain"

All hail the goddess that as Katy Perry looking just way too fab on the current cover of ELLE Magazine!

Right on the heels of her stellar Superbowl performance, the KP action just keeps on coming. And this time around, girlfriend is not holding back – in the ELLE article Katy talks about everything from her love of Beyonce to her thoughts on Kanye West, Adele and yes, can I get a drum roll please – she even had something to say. So let’s dissect it because I know that’s what y’all want.

At one point the ELLE reporter basically asked what Katy thinks about all popstars being characters in a big soap opera to which the Teenage Dream of a singer responded with this: You’ve got to name someone the villain, someone the princess, someone the mom-the dad type – you know there always have to be characters. As pop figures, we’re all characters. And the media uses that. Who is the sweetheart, who is the villain? You know. Taylor’s the sweetheart. Kanye’s the villain. That’s the narrative.”

Obviously, this is completely hypothetical – but it does make sense especially when you’re talking about the relationship between Kanye and Taylor. That said, sorry to burst your bubble but Katy isn’t really commenting specifically on the rumors that she and Taylor are in the midst of a big feud. But she is commenting on the fact that Tay’s public perception is that of a sweetheart, which we won’t disagree with at all! And really quickly, on the subject of Kanye West, it’s obvious that Katy doesn’t see him as a villain, because, uh hello, one of her all-time best songs ET was a collaboration between the two of them. Anyways, I want to hear from you guys – what do you think about this whole popstar soap opera? I think it totally makes sense. There’s definitely not any sort of diss happening but I’m sure people out there will find some way to turn into one. How about let’s just not? Anywho, that’s just me.
