Katy Perry GRABS Shawn Mendes' Butt At iHeartRadio Music Awards & Who Inspired New Hair

Katy Perry talks about the REAL inspiration behind her new haircut, how she’s embracing her thirties, and touches Shawn Mendes’s butt at the iHeartRadio awards.
Katy Perry got candid about everything from why she’s looking for new friends these days to the real story behind that new ‘do!
First things first, let’s talk about that new pixie cut. While many fans were quick to call out Katy’s new short ‘do and as a typical “break-over”--aka, breakup makeover--since she just split from Orlando Bloom, Katy explained that those assumptions couldn’t be further from the truth. She explained to radio host Elvis Duran, QUOTE, “I’ve always wanted to look like Miley Cyrus. I’ve always wanted to have that pixie haircut, so I said, ‘Let’s just go for it.'...I want to redefine what it means to be feminine. Look at Scarlett Johansson, who’s one of the most beautiful women in the world. We have the same haircut and I saw her at an Oscars party and was like, ‘I’m doing it.’ You’re hot, you can be hot and look great with this kind of hair. Why not?”
And in addition to embracing her new hairstyle, Katy is also embracing her 30s, telling Ryan Seacrest backstage at the iHeartRadio awards QUOTE, “I’m 32 now and I feel great. I’m really accepting of myself and I’ve done a little work in that area and it’s really paying off because I’m having fun and feeling free. I feel the most authentic I’ve ever been.”
Well she’s definitely putting her money where her mouth is, because one such “authentic” moment happened to Katy earlier at the awards show, when she was photographed on the red carpet with specks of food in her teeth. Unfortunately no one told her there was anything in her teeth before the paps started snapping, which later prompted Katy to take to Instagram to post one of the pictures with the caption, “Currently taking applications for real friends who aren't afraid to tell me there's quinoa in my teeth.” We’ve gotta give her props for being able to laugh at a moment most of us have been through and completely cringed over.
While we’re loving all of Katy’s candid moments courtesy of the iHeartRadio awards, by far our favorite had to be when she playfully touched Shawn Mendes’s butt on the red carpet:
Yep, Katy is clearly living her best life at the moment, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
