If you thought the fifth season of American Horror Story was extremely creepy, well, let’s just say that the hotel theme was just the tip of the iceberg.
While everyone was trying to figure out what the theme for American Horror Story season six is after a bunch of teasers were released, TMZ’s latest findings may give AHS fans a better insight on what they can expect on the upcoming season.
The outlet managed to get their hands on the first shots from the American Horror Story set in Santa Clarita, California and it definitely looks like season six will focus on a creepy legend during the colonial times. TMZ insiders revealed that they’ve seen the cast of AHS in Pilgrim-era clothing, but one HUGE clue that led many to believe this is the word ‘Croatoan’ carved onto the side of a giant tree.
Now, I know what you’re probably thinking, well, what’s so creepy about the colonial-era and this ‘Croatoan’ word? Well, legend has it that back in the 1590s, about 117 people vanished from the North Carolina colony that was settled on Roanoke Island. Their bodies were nowhere to be found and the only clue that people found when they stumbled upon this ‘Lost Colony’ was the word “Croatoan” – which was the name of a nearby Native American tribe -- carved into the tree.
There have been a TON of creepy stories about this colony and it’s one of America’s biggest mysteries that have yet to be solved. It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out.
