Niall Horan Drops Debut SOLO Single "This Town"

The age of One Direction solo acts is upon us with Zayn killing it with his career, Liam signed with Capital UK, Louis set up his own record label with Simon Cowell, then Harry melting everyone’s heart with his recent Another Man shoot and now Niall is spreading his wings with some music of his own. Not only do we get a new song, but an acoustic visual too? Good day right? In addition to releasing the song on Spotify, iTunes, and Apple Music, Niall released this intimate stripped down version with a 1 Mic 1 Take video. Niall tweeted out the song saying QUOTE – “Been workin in the studio, wanted to share this song I just wrote with u guys. thank you for always being there.” The lyrics of “This Town” couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, it’s fall, right in time for cuffing season with lyrics that say QUOTE - "Saw that you moved on with someone new / in the pub that we met he’s got his arms around you / it’s so hard, so hard / and I want to tell you everything words I never got to say the first time around.” So grab yourself some tissues, a blanket, a coffee table covered in junk food, and have yourself a good wallow session. The track was produced by Greg Kurstin who’s worked with artists like Adele, Sia, Ellie Goulding and Kelly Clarkson and was co-written by Niall, Jamie Scott, Mike Needle, and Daniel Bryer. Niall’s solo career is definitely looking bright, as I’m sure many of you know, he signed a deal with Capital Records here in the US as well as one with Virgin EMI in the UK. As for the hype around his solo single, a source told the Sun QUOTE - “He didn’t want lots of hype around his music and instead wanted something aimed directly at the One Direction fans. The music is the most important thing to Niall which is why he wanted to make sure he got to work with the best songwriters out there. Greg Kurstin is one of the most sought-after producers in the industry and getting him on board was a real masterstroke.”
Now of course Twitter is blowing up with Niall admiration and the reactions from fans have been priceless. The memes and gifs are already in full swing with one fan tweeting QUOTE – “Me when I heard #ThisTown running down our hallways at school.”
Another said – “When you’re just chillin at home then see that Niall just dropped a song. I. Am. In. Love. With. It. #ThisTown.”
And this fan pretty much summed up the emotions of all Directioners saying QUOTE – “WHEN YOU ARE STILL RECOVERING FROM HARRYS PICTURES AND SOLO NIALL STARTS TO RISE #ThisTown.”
The excitement is real.
