Just one month after the release of his solo debut album, Flicker, Niall Horan is this years Best New Artist winner at the AMA’s. This is the second year in a row that a former directioner has won after breaking off to become a solo artist. Zayn Malik was the recipient of the award last year.
Niall thanked his fans during his speech at the Microsoft Theater, and rightfully so since it’s a fan voted award.
He also sent out a tweet saying, “ Amazing ! Thank you so much for voting for me . Really appreciate the love and support . Thank you @AMAs.
Later that night, Niall performed a sexy and dimly lit rendition of his hit song, “Slow Hands” with his band. The audience was on their feet while Niall was doing his serenading in a tight black shirt, black pants, and an oversized fedora. I mean, we don’t hate it.
