One Direction has been on hiatus for WAY too long and after all these years, it makes sense that some Directioners have lost all hope in their faves ever reuniting. However, this very recent and seemingly promising discovery is sure to get some of those fans believing once again.
According to the Daily Mail, 1D fans were sent into a frenzy when they found a Ticketmaster listing for a One Direction show that was reportedly scheduled for December 31st, 2020 at Etihad Stadium in Australia. I know what you’re probably thinking, ‘OMG IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?!’ Well, not to burst your bubble, but you know what they say, all good things must come to an end and as quickly as this discovery was made, it was quickly deleted from the Ticketmaster website.
However, that didn’t stop fans from freaking out. One fan tweeted QUOTE, “If One Direction comes back in 2020 in Australia catch me there in the front row. I’m ready to sell my left leg to see them.” Another tweeted, “Is One Direction expecting me to fly to Australia December 31 in 2020? Because that’s a strong maybe.”
While one fan started a wild theory regarding the concert date tweeting, “What if this isn’t actually a tour date/start of a tour? What if it’s the day the band comes back together? It would make sense because even Liam said he’d put all his money on One Direction getting back together after 2020?”
Hm, is it just me or is all of this just super convenient since the band is celebrating eight years since the group was initially put together? One Direction’s official twitter page has been celebrating all weekend and early Monday morning, Liam, Louis, and Niall all reflected on their years of being in the band.
Niall tweeted, “#8YearsofOneDirection wow! 8 years of amazing memories with the lads. Thank you so much for standing by us for all this time.” Liam tweeted, “#8YearsofOneDirection what an incredible 8 years it’s been with my brothers! Thank you to all the fans that are still supporting and following our journeys. While Louis tweeted, “#8YearsofOneDirection where has the time gone?! Thank you so much to every single person who’s ever supported us. Big love! And remember, if it’s by one direction and it’s a banger, I probably wrote on it.”
Now, it’s very clear that Harry has yet to say something about the celebration since his last tweet was roughly six days ago, but hey! The day is still young. Something tells me that Harry will thank Directioners for their utmost support very soon.
So, what are your thoughts on all of this? Is there really a One Direction reunion concert in the works for 2020?? Or do you think it was just a fluke and we just shouldn’t get our hopes up?
