Ryan Lochte’s Dancing with the Stars debut is overshadowed by two men ambushing him on live TV!
: Ryan swam through some rough water last night, but thankfully security Lochte-ed the two protestors behind bars.
In case you missed it, last night was the action packed season 23 premiere of Dancing with Stars. LIVE. Which means anything can happen- and it did. This season’s diverse cast of dancers includes model Amber Rose, Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez, aaaaand Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte. Whom is fresh off a robbery scandal at this summer’s Olympic games in Rio. On the premiere last night Ryan and his partner Cheryl Burke danced their way through a glamorous foxtrot to a song appropriately titled, “Call Me Irresponsible”. The pair were in the middle of facing the judges comments when two men rushed the stage wearing anti-Lochte shirts in what appears to be an attempted attack on the swimmer. Luckily, security stepped in and tackled the men to the ground and handcuffed them. While none of the commotion aired on the show, take a look at this audience footage that has surfaced on online.
As you saw, not only did two men ambush the stage, but there were three women in the audience wearing white protesting shirts and chanting “Liar, liar!” to Ryan on stage. Pro dancer Derek Hough stepped in to scold the ladies and security swiftly kicked the demonstrators out of the show. LAPD has confirmed the two men who stormed the stage were placed under arrest for trespassing at CBS Studios and no one was harmed in the incident. During the commotion, host Tom Bergeron smartly cut to commercial break and returned thanking the security team and got some comments from Ryan who said QUOTE, “So many feelings are going through my head right now. A little hurt... I came out here and I wanted to do something I am completely not comfortable with, and I did.” After the show E! News caught up with Ryan who got EVEN more emotional.
