Selena Gomez makes a major donation to Lupus research- a cause that hits very close to home.
Selena is bringing her song title to life by doing GOOD FOR YOU.
Selena Gomez has previously revealed her struggle with Lupus that has significantly affected her life and career. The singer has decided to take action against the life altering disease by making a major donation. Selena gifted the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine with a large sum of money to create the Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research.
In a statement Selena explained her inspiring decision, “I continue to be optimistic about the progress being made in lupus research and am proud to support the promising work at Keck School of Medicine. I am hopeful for the millions of us around the world that may benefit from this.”
Selena’s fund will support a research program focused on treating complications of the disease and potentially create targeted therapeutic treatment breakthroughs.
If you recall, in August last year Selena took a shocking break from the spotlight to get healthy after her lupus diagnosis caused her “anxiety, panic attacks and depression”. Three months later Selena made her big comeback at the American Music Awards where she gave a heartfelt speech and thanked fans for their support.
