The nominees for the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards were announced yesterday, and 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford was one of the lucky ladies to be recognized in the category of Actress in a Television Drama. Not only did the 21-year-old express her excitement and gratitude on Instagram, but the show’s executive producer, Selena Gomez, also sent her congratulations on the social media site.
Selena posted a picture of herself and Katherine hugging along with a heartfelt message that reads QUOTE “AND to this gorgeous, kind hearted lady. You endured this character with such strength and softness. @katherinelangford I am so proud you are being acknowledged for doing just that! GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINEE!!! Ladies are shining!”
We’re sure Kat’s nomination felt a little extra special because Sel had just hung out with her at the 13 Reasons Why season 2 wrap party, which she threw over the weekend.
Selena shared adorable pictures from the night that showed her and Katherine, as well as actors Dylan Minnette, Miles Heizer, Ross Butler, and more, posing in a show-branded photobooth.
She captioned the post QUOTE “And this year wraps up with another committed journey with @13reasonswhy -Season 2 is coming. To every person on this project, thank you for coming back. Good or bad we are committed to having the tough conversations, to telling the story that can start change.”
Actress Michele Selene Ang (pronounced hard g, not like nickname for angela), who plays Courtney Crimson, and Christian Lee Navaro, who plays Tony Padilla, also shared some pics from the fun cast party.
Jealous! How fun did that party look?! 13 Reasons Why is obviously very close to Selena’s heart, so we’re sure Katherine’s nomination was just as sweet as if she got nominated herself.
