Selena Gomez Talks Bodyshaming & New 'Beautiful' Revival Album Cover Art

And not only does her stripped-down album artwork speak volumes, but Selena is also insisting that her music off of her new album Revival will be doing all the talking.
So let me just start by saying, I AM LOVING THIS NEW SELENA. She’s confident, she’s happy and she’s literally on top of the world right now. And during an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Selena opened up all about being body-shamed, and to put it simply, not giving a flying… well, you get where I’m going with this. Check it out:
YOU TELL ‘EM GIRL. But although Selena admitted that the body-shaming did get to her a little bit, it really only fueled the fire and inspired what would go down to be her most raw, stripped-down album artwork yet. She talked about the artwork being her own idea, saying QUOTE, “I could do the really super cool makeup and the really cool structured outfit,” she explains. “I can do that whole thing, but I chose this one because it’s stunning and I thought it was such a beautiful representation of where I am.”
And while we’re on the topic of feeling good in her own skin, one of Selena’s other favorite aspects of Revival is her first single “Good For You.” When Ryan asked if her parents questioned the steamy lyrics, Selena, of course, had the perfect response, saying “There’s nothing wrong with a woman being comfortable, confident, or whatever it is that you feel. I love that, I love feeling like I’m in love and want to look good for someone. At the same time, there’s no guy in the video, I’m saying I am a diamond, and I like the way that women feel when they’re in that state.”
Uh, yeah, that one calls for a mic drop, people. So there’s no question we will be getting much more of Selena come October for her album release, BUT you guys, you only have a few days left to enter to be a part of her secret LA location on September 16. Not many details are revealed but Selena did reveal, “There ‘s gonna be stuff for them to do. I want to meet every single person, so I am gonna say I am meeting every single person that comes to that event, but I don’t want to give it all away.”
