Selena Gomez REVEALS Album Title & Cover!

With just a few weeks to spare, we finally got some answers about Selena Gomez’s upcoming album.mEarly this morning, Selena went on social media to drop some major details about her third studio album, which is set to drop in January. How’s it going everyone I’m _______ with Clevver News and Selena made her announcement on both Instagram and Twitter, tweeting out a short promo video that told us the name of the album as well as the names of most of the tracks.Yup, you heard that right. Her new album is called “Rare”.And in the video that she posted, she gave us short snippets of some of the songs that we can expect to hear on the album, starting with the title track.The Weeknd certainly didn’t really seem to appreciate her or recognize how rare she is, considering right after their breakup he went straight back to Bella Hadid and wrote a song about how Selena isn’t even half of Bella.But now almost 2 years later, it’s Selena’s turn to bite back. Selena has called this upcoming album her, quote “diary from the past few years”, so I wouldn’t put it out of the realm of possibility that we could get an Abel diss track on Rare.And in the official bio for the album, Selena states “After a four-year period of intense media scrutiny -- on the heels of some highly publicized breakups…”Hear that? Break upS. Plural. Unless there’s someone else that we don’t know about, she’s certainly going to be talking about Justin AND The Weeknd. But “Rare” isn’t the only song that we learned about through Selena’s promo video.It gives us the tracklist, including songs like “dance again” “ring” “vulnerable” “people you know” “let me get me” “kinda crazy” “fun” and “cut you off”.She’s also got two songs with features on the album, including “Crowded Room” with 6lack and “A Sweeter Place” featuring Kid Cudi. We’ve already heard a snippet of “kinda crazy” too. One fan reposted it to Twitter, saying “SELENA HEARD OUR PRAYERS AND SHE PUT “KINDA CRAZY” ON THE ALBUM. ALL TOGETHER WE HAVE TO SAY: THANK YOU SELENA”So those songs, plus her two singles, makes 12 songs. We know her album has 13 songs total. But luckily for us, there’s already a wikipedia page on that album that somebody from Selena’s team must have put up.Because how else would anyone know that the 13th song is called “Dance Again”? Or that she wrote “Rare” alongside Madison Love, Brett McLaughlin, Emily Warren, and Sir Nolan.But the Wikipedia gave us even more information that I certainly didn’t see coming.According to the page, the Deluxe version of the album, available only at Target, will have 5 more bonus tracks. And those bonus tracks might already be familiar to you, because they’re all of the singles that Selena dropped in the past 3 years.Including It Ain’t Me, Bad Liar, Fetish, Wolves, and Back to You.And her promo video ends by showing the cover art for “Rare”, which is mostly white, with Selena laying off to the side, wearing a shirt that says “Rare”.Hopefully Selena will be selling these shirts as merch. When she does, TAKE MY MONEY, Selena! Though a lot of people online, even Selena’s most die-hard fans, didn’t seem to love the album cover much.
Someone actually made a video of them recreating the cover art for Rare in less than 60 seconds, trying to show how little work went into it.There’s already a Change.org petition titled “Selena change the album cover art for “Rare” that got over 200 signatures within the first hour of Selena’s announcement. They even gave some helpful suggestions! Saying “We wish for selena to do a better photo and get it professionally edited. Examples of cover arts we would want: Romance (Camila Cabello), 1989 (Taylor Swift), Dangeorus Woman (Ariana Grande), Revival (her previous album)” So we’ll see what happens with that. Although Selena did present this image as an album cover, it’s not official until it starts to hit shelves. If she sees that people really don’t like it, there is still time to fix it. I personally don’t think that it’s THAT bad! Though I will admit that it’s a bit simple. But the cover IS listed and already as the official artwork on her Apple Music page. Her Apple Music page for the album also says that the album is 42 minutes from start to finish.It’s been 5 whole years since her last album, Revival, so Selena certainly wants Rare to be a massive success. And it looks like it’s going to. Her first two singles “Look at Her Now’ and “Lose You to Love Me” were both instant hits. And from the snippets that we heard in this video, it sounds like she has a couple more hits on her hands. Selena actually has been teasing this album a lot longer than we thought.
